Going for a one-nighter with the family, our 3 bed monster takes ages to pitch so I'm wondering about getting something from Decathlon for quick pitch fun. I already have a couple of the 2-seconds pop-ups from them, which I have found over several Glastonbury's to be utterly stormproof. What I want to do is use those in addition to whatever else I get (3 kids, we need space!).

There seems to be a few options...

Seconds Base: the "Full" version with groundsheet doesn't seem to be available anymore, but the basic verison is. It looks like it does the "docking" thing with the smaller tents, but I can't be sure. Also, expensive as you need a groundsheet and inner purchased separately. Anyone know if they connect up, and if so, how many appertures are there that can dock?

Base 4.2 and 4.1: These look like they don't have a back door to which one could dock another tent, in which case I couldn't use the ones I alread have. This would be a shame as I quite like the look of the 4.2. Does anyone have one? Can they dock or not?

Many thanks,

John

We have a seconds base (normal one) and a 3 pop up sitting in the garage used once! From what I can remember they don't fit together tightly but we could get from one to the other through the opening, we bought the inner for the base as well so it was cosy. Pic below in link (bare in mind this was the first time we used it)

I've discovered that Decathlon Surrey Quays has the last stock of the Base Seconds Full, which is the one with the integral groundsheet and has two openings that "dock" and two that don't dock with smaller tents but can with other Base cubes. They are on offer at £79 I think she said. Off to pick one up.

Hi
We have a base 4.2 and no, there isn't a back door in which to dock another tent, which is a shame because its something we'd definitely do!

We also have the base seconds full, which we 'dock' to the front, then off that, we dock a smaller pop up for my eldest son.

It sounds a faff but they really are up in a few minutes.

We have just bought a 4.2 for exactly the same reason as the OP. We have a Khyam Ultimate Deluxe which is the bees knees for a long holiday but no good for overnight stops.

Ordered online and received a couple of days later from Surrey Quays. Out of the tent and up in 10 minutes first time.

Decided it needed some extra living space in case we used it for a weekend so have added a Base Seconds. Couldn't find a Base Seconds Full anywhere.
