I'm still looking for a tent for Glastonbury. A mate's going to carry it all because he's going before I am, but he's going to be using one of the rooms, so I don't feel too guilty about it!
Budget is £200 max (it was £100, then £150 - but if I need to spend £200 fair enough).
Bedrooms: One on either side of a central area (two bedrooms in total). I'd like to be able to put a double airbed in at least one of the rooms.
Height: I need to be able to stand up in the central bit and preferably not have it sloping too suddenly for the bedrooms.
Central area: My brother has something with a central area, but there wasn't room for our stuff in the bedrooms and *when* it rained a lot of our stuff got wet because the groundsheet was flat. So I think I'm looking for "fully sewn in" or "bathtub"? I guess that's not a must have feature though.
Sheltered porch: I'd really like a sheltered porch, that doesn't require poles but is part of the tent, like the QUECHUA T6.2. It would be good for putting a bunch of chairs in and watching the rain!
So, kind of a cross between the QUECHUA T6.2 (for the sheltered porch) and the QUECHUA T4.2 (for the bedrooms separated by the central bit).
Is there anything like this in my budget?
Many thanks for your time

The Gelert Horizon 6 or identical Hi Gear Zenobia 6 (from Go Outdoors) has everything on your list. Two 3 man beds, plenty big enough for a double airbed, and a central area 2.5 x 2.5m and 2m high. It comes in a suitcase size bag, but it is very heavy, perhaps too heavy for what you are thinking of using it for if you've to carry it some distance?. We have ours for family camping in the car. Maybe someone else will have some ideas for you.

The pen is mightier than the sword - but only if the sword is very small and the pen is very sharp...
What you're talking about is a vis a vis tent, a central dome with a double bedroom either side. I have one called a Royal Tarn 4 which holds a double airbed each side (possibly you don't need a 6 man if a 4 man would do and be a bit lighter to carry). That model is no longer available sadly but do a search using the key words 'vis a vis'
Thanks for the info - the search term vis a vis has been very useful.
I've also seen some tunnel tents with an openable front porch (that's more substantial than a couple of poles holding up a flap) with three rooms - so the middle room could be used for storing the stuff and would count as the separator between rooms. Another avenue to go down... still some time left to decide at least.
Cheers

I was starting to look at two (adjoining) room tunnel tents with an openable front, but this would save me a lot of money, and I can lend my mate the tent I can't stand up in, if he's happy with that.
Fully sewn in groundsheet as well!
Nice one, thanks :o)
Are there any others that I might consider? It's a real shame I can't add weight and height to the search on this site. There's so much useful info on here but it's not so easy to access.
The trouble with three rooms along the back is that they're often only separated by a curtain which is hung from two points and open along all the edges - not good for privacy even if there is a storage room in between. However, the caplan is excellent value and your idea of having your mate in a separate tent is definatly workable.
If you're still thinking along the lines of a vis a vis here's a coleman one for £119 that's very similar to mine, the bedrooms are 140cm and most double airbeds are just a few cm short of that so they would definately fit in. It has a riser groundsheet in it too, keep your stuff dry should it rain.
