We have a Vermont XL and it was certainly daunting when we first bought it (actually it was verging on divorce territory the first time we put it up ). But once you've put it up a couple of times it's a doddle. Yes, it's big and heavy, but it's a great tent and well worth it. I'm beginning to have my annual 'how am I going to fit everything into the car' dreams. Nothing at all keeps me awake at night except thoughts of strategic boot packing

Had a roof box when getting our Vermont XL...now had to buy a trailer as completely overloading the car.Hope to ditch the roof box so all 4 bikes go on roof (rather than 2 plus roof box on top and 2 on back) AND the trailer! Still to try out the trailer though as new this year.

Love the tent though and don't think you will have any regrets...providing you can fit it in!
