Looking for a 5 man weekend tent, have an outwell dakota 6 for the major holidays but looking for a more compact, cheaper option for a weekend....any ideas??? Thanks

have a look at the vango icarus 500 or 600.i'vpicked the 600 for my first tent.saw the 500 in the flesh at coatbrige smashin little tent for the price also they both get good reviews on this site.good luck

Thanks, was just looking at the 500, looks good, just back from Tarland today, dakota was soaking when i took it down and its taking all day to dry out and put away, had a vango before so may plump for the same again !

Are you looking for a 5 man tent or are you expecting to fit 5 men in it?
Just that the icarus is a great little weekend tent 15 mins to put up but i wouldnt want to sleep 5 in it. Please tell us who will be in it, so we can help a bit better

4 people, I have 2 young kids, i had a 5 man vango for 10 years and it slept 4 easy, cost wise if i could keep it under £170 that would be fine, not looking for carpet or any extras for this one.
