I have just bought last week an Outwell Montana 6. Due to wind I havent had a chance to put it up in the garden yet. Having watched the pitch video on Outwell site it shows 2 side poles with brackets on to put the side porch support pole into. Mine doesnt seem to have these on any poles but wondered if this was a design change on 2010 model? Can anyone help me?

i think you may been the folding king poles with the pointy ends ?

these can be used on the front door to create canopy or on the side door for a smaller canopy.

unless you mean the curved section on the side door, this is one pole that fits into 'female' sockets fitted on the tent itself.

Yeah I mean the curved section on the side door. On the video online it clearly shows cups on the poles but if these are now on the tent itself I wont worry :) will try and get it up in the garden this weekend but I only had 10 days to check it was all there according to paperwork that came with it from Camping World.

They should be on the tent attached to the clips that attach the flysheet to the poles

We have the 2010 and they are on the tent. Tight fit though!

Funny you should say this. We just took our porch pole back to Camping World today as it snapped when we test pitched it. Guess what - there's had too!! Anyway they made a fibreglass one which they have offered to do for us if the Outwell pole won't be available before our first trip. He said that they had changed the shape (though not sure why we didn't get the new shape as brand new tent) and if it was the same shape he would suggest taking a bit off the pole to reduce the stress.

Obviously not tried it but that's what we'll be doing if it's the same pole that's returned.
