Hello experts!

I've been a camper for 2 years now and our trusty Gelert Alaska is starting to fall apart a little. Can't complain after spending very little on it. This will now be used for festivals.

Having been totally converted, I now want to get a better tent with a little more living room space and a few more features. Here's what I want:

Sewn in groundsheet
A good HH value
4 man tent (with 4 people in it realistically)
2 Bedrooms - 1 at either end
Standing height living area essential. Standing height Bedrooms would be great but not essential
Good living are which cant get our stuff, 4 people and table and chairs in comfortably.

I don't have budgit. I dont want to spend a huge amount (like £700!!) but if the price can be justified I'm open to any suggestions. I like the Outwell range as they look great but at the same time their name comes with a price. There was one tent which was a vis-a-vis tunnel style tent but almost had corridors nect to the bedrooms. I saw this about a year ago but cant find it now, not sure who made it but it was one of the big names.

Any help is much apreciated!

Have you seen the Kampa range? The Ultimate range have 100D flysheets that will outlast the 70-75D flysheets of other makes including Outwell (more tear and UV resistant). Both this range and their Endurance range have 4000HH, full-standing heights, integral (retractable) canopies and lots of other luxury features.

They have a vis-a-vis tent - the Pendine (£299) - which also has an optional canopy:

I did see a Cabanon Biscaya Vis a Vis, at Catterick Caravans indoor display back in late 2008, they were going EOL at £869, it was a superb tent, although sadly no longer made, but maybe there is a dealer with one in stock, out there somewhere, it just oozed quality, and I almost bought one, but was looking for a "Cotton" tent at the time, which I did get from Catterick.

This tent is a whole lotta tent for the money £359, sadly out of stock for online purchases and I'm not surprised. There's some lovely pictures of it in the tent review section here (tab at top of page)

Cheers for the advice guys. The kampa would have been perfect apart from not having the ability to have both bedroom deviding walls removed. That would make it a little awkward with a double airbed in both bedrooms.

Kepp them coming though, I need to convinve the missus about getting a new tent :D

Have you looked at the Khyam Rigidome range.

The Harewood can be found for £300 at various place.
Harewood

We have just bought a Harewood dlx (£400) which adds a huge porch. For us a porch is essential nothing worse than opening the living room door and letting rain in especially with a SIG.

Not been away yet but I have pitched it in the garden. It took me about 25 mins and that was on my own.

Both of these have reasonable head height (I am 6 ft)in the living area. The dividing wall in the 4 man bedroom is just a curtain and so it can just be rolled away.

The Longleat is even taller and offers even more space.
Longleat

Don't know much about the Leicester area but we bought ours from JR Leisure in Wigan who had a Harewood on display. I note from their website they are based in Leicester so they may have them on display there.

Floggitt only seeing that now....yes I do like to break the ice, when I smoked I'd ask for a light now I ask for a corkscrew and produce a bottle of wine.
