I don't think there's much difference. There's a black ventilation panel over the front door and the colours are very slightly different. The green was 'Laurel/sage' last year and this year it's 'Laurel/meadow'....
It's not much of a difference but enough to annoy anyone looking for a canopy to go with the 09' Icarus.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Hi. I don't know what the difference is between the 2009 Icarus and the 2010 Icarus. Does last year's say 2010 on it and this year's 2009 just to confuse people?
Just back from first trip with Icarus. Fantastic. Loads of room and we tried it with large sun canopy - worked very well. So easy to erect and pack away. Very happy! Still love my Guadeloupe, but you can never have too many tents!!!
Ginandtonic - I too have returned from my first trip in our Icarus 500 with carpet and footprint and must say am very very happy with it. We spent a week in our tent and have upgraded from Beta. One question i wanted to ask was how did you fold yours up to get it back in the bag?
How funny - we got ours to replace Beta!! Like to stand up these days! To fold it up, we left the zips on the front door halfway open then took all pegs and poles out. It sort of collapsed on itself. The starting from bedroom end, we folded it both sides to middle, then in half from there. Hope this is clear - I know what I mean! We then sort of rolled it towards the door end, so from back to front, and rolled the pole bag in when nearly at end. A tight roll and it fitted in the bag. Da da!!! My hubby did stand for a round of applause, but there was only one other tent and they were at the other end of field! He was well gutted, lol.!!!
PS Still got the Beta if anyone wants to make us a reasonable offer!!!
Hi Ginandtonic, I've been looking at the Beta 450, is that the one you have? I have looked on youtube and it seems that the groundsheet is a bathtub style one, and not sewn in all the way round. Yet the Vango product catalogue states that it is sewn in. Which is it on your tent?
No, it's the 350 and the ground sheet isn't sewn in. It's one of those that clip at the edges and not attached to the sides. Good tent, just can't stand up fully in it.
