Hi, We currently own a Vango Colorado 800 DLX, which although nice (and big) when up we are finding too much of a hassle for weekends with two young kids.
We are therefore looking for something that offer the following - SIG, tunnel tent, 5/6 berth (only 4 of us, but want the option to take a friend!), standing height sleeping compartments, windows), budget £200-£250.
I have looked at a number of options including the Vango Tigris and Outwell Oakland XL, but I do like the look of the Royal Atlanta 6, but cannot find a review anywhere! Has anyone got/seen one?
Thanks,
Ange

Hi Ange.
We have just bought a Royal Atlanta 8. Only 3 of us but we wanted something with plenty of room for rainy days, Also with room for our son to take along a friend if he wanted. We already have a Vango Tigris 400 as our weekend tent.
Not used the Atlanta yet but I did look at reviews of other Royal tents and there didn't seem to be any question regarding quality.
Here is the Royal Website, There is a "find a dealer" link, so hopefully you'll be able to find somewhere close to you that you can actually see one "in the flesh"

We've not had any problems with our Tigris either. We did look at the 600 and 800 before getting the Atlanta, but I like the peaks over both doors, not just one and also the doors zip completely round, not open at the bottom like the Vango's.
Hope this info helps a bit.

Thanks both of you - so much easier to make a decision when you speak to someone who owns/has seen one!
Good point about the gloominess of the Tigris - we did think that as well when we saw it and were drawn towards the super light Outwell Oakland XL, but it is a 5 berth and I like the flexibility of the 6 berth layout of the Atlanta/Tigris/Nevada L.
I contacted my local Royal stockist as per their website and thought they don't have it in stock, he can get it and will get back to me with a price.
I think we will more than likely go for the Atlanta - come on the sunshine tho and slightly warmer temperatures though!

Ange, I was wondering if you had decided on a tent yet. Well done on what I'm sure will be an excellent choice.
We are off in our Tigris this weekend to Romney Farm, but we'll be taking the Atlanta for our half term trip to Cotswold View. So looking forward to using it.
Good luck with your practice pitch. I'd be interested to hear about the canopy as we've not got this as yet. Also some photo's would be nice!
Here's to lots of lovely camping holidays ahead.
