Right i have my Vango Icarus 500, i have booked into a site in mold for the 29th May (day after my birthday btw!!) so i thought me and the kids can sleep in the tent for a night just to see if 4 yr old Ellis will sleep......woke up this morning it had rained lightly most of the night but all was fine (besides sharing a sleeping bag with a fidgity 4 yr old!)

we came in then a couple hours later i packed all the bedding up to find my 9 year old had a damp patch on her camp bed (steel framed canvas type) as if she had wet her bed...sleeping bag and p.j's bone dry..Very misterious.....went to put my nice new inflatable mattress away and that too had a damp bit right in the middle (been a few years since i wet the bed.)

the weather was fairly cold but snug in a sleeping bag with our usual quilts over us

Amber the 6 year old uses a readybed with her fluffy blankets inside it and hers was bone dry!!

Anyone any ideas why these damp patches appeared in our nice dry tent?

as ever, Leon

Condensation?  The air in your bed and underneath your daughter's will have been cold and you are warm...

Classic place for condensation is under your sleeping bag.

I use picnic rugs or fleece blankets on top of the beds . and lift the beds and bedding to air every morning , drape over tables, chairs etc, or out on the car if a dry day. you may find pools of water under airbeds too.

Fleece blankets on top of the airbed normally do the job.

Bit bulky to shove in the car, but we find a sheepkskin blanket the absolute business for sleeping on. Placed over airbeds, nothing gets through, super warm (even with a fairly simple duvet one top) and no damp or condensation.
