I am a camping novice. When i set up my outwell oregan 5 it seems as if the sides have not come doen enough to peg them down. i have assumed that the tention straps are pre set by outwell to give the best set up. I feel that the tent poles need to come in more to help the sides of the tent come closer to the ground.
Please help.
Thanks Marco

Hello Marco, we have an Oregon 5 and we haven't had a problem like this. Can you release the tension straps a little? They may simply be too tight. On the tent reviews there are several pictures of people's Oregon 5's, perhaps if you take a look at them you will see how the tent should look. It could be that yours looks pretty much the same.!!
The tension straps should be fully loosened off when you're pinning in the poles, tightened up about half way when pegging out and then adjusted as necessary...temperature, wind, lay of land etc can all make it necessary to tweak the poles a bit. There is no optimum setting...that will just be the way they were when packed.
