Thanks for previous replies recommending family tents- we are a family of 5, with 3 young children under the age of 8. We have seen the Vango Icarus 600 and also the DLX version which appeals to us because of the extra living space. Can't find any reviews for the DLX. Can anyone help? Also, what is a breathable ground sheet? How does that work when it's a sewn-in groundsheet?

can't help with reviews, maybe its a new thing this year and thats why no reviews yet? I would think it would be just as good as the standard icarus just bigger.
Breathable groundsheets are for use in caravan awnings, not tents. they have little holes in them that let the grass breathe and grow underneath. Some sites insist on them for caravanners.
But they wouldnt work with a tent, because they let water through if the ground is very wet. Would serve no useful purpose with a SIG.
Never knew a DLX existed till I read your post. Pretty certain it'll be exactly like the 600 with the extra panel and windows, I doubt very much anything else will have changed.

We were all new to it once , I remember years ago , my brother ringing me to ask what a flysheet was when reading instructions for his tent.
I thought it was insect mesh, not the actual outer canvas of the tent.
The tent didnt even have insect mesh
