Hi,
I posted a while back looking for Vis a Vis tent suggestions. Having considered things I think we would prefer the bedrooms in one section with living area at the front. We are looking for a tent which has a divider between the bedrooms or separate bedroom pods, big enough for three people. It needs to be quite waterproof/windproof and not too huge. I've had a look at the Vango Icarus which would be within our budget but I think its probably too big. Something similar to what we would be after is the Kampa Bude 4, but its a bit above our budget - not looking to spend more than 150 if possible. Wondered if anyone had any suggestions?
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
I'd go for an Icarus 500. It wouldn't be too big for 3. You can separate the bedroom space into 2 areas and not be squashed. The bedroom is behind the living area. Ours has never leaked and is very stable in the wind.
If you catch this quick enough. Sky Blue Leisure have sold out of the Bude 4 apart from their showroom display model of 2 months - which they are currently selling for £174.99. If that helps a little. With its 100D flysheet it should outlast significantly (in terms of UV and wear and tear) any other 75D polyester tent and as such may be worth a little extra if you can stretch the pennies. Very pleased with ours - off to the Cotswolds with it this weekend!
May be another option, but a bit bigger - there is a Vango Columbia 400 on ebay at the moment within your budget (discontinued this year, but excellent spec). Worth a look...
You can pick up an Icarus 500 for £130 on ebay. It's definately not too big for 3! Last weekend I had myself, my son, and a friend staying in his little 2 man, but sitting inside with us, and it wasn't cramped, but we didn't have room to run around either. It rained pretty much non stop all day Saturday, and there wasn't the slightest sign of a leak either.
Try the Vangfo venture 500 or the 600DLX which has 2 three berth pods that are really only good as 2 doubles. I have recently bought one on Ebay for £60 and you should easily get a good VV500 for that price. Great tent

for £126.95, which Go Outdoors should price match 10% below, making it around the £114 mark, allowing you some cash to get the footprint/carpet/canopy maybe? Check prices on the net and if you can get to Go Outdoors for a price match, it might be worth it.
