on using my bell tent for the first time i realised that one of the rubber loops that you peg down to shape the bottom (cotton sides not PVC groundsheet) of the tent is missing and when it rained there was a patch of the tent that wasn't waterproofed. the company have offered to send me a new loop to sew on myself and some waterproofing product and discount the tent. Or i could return it they would exchange it for a new one.

Is it an easy enough job to sew on the loop or am i better off exchanging it?

also where we were pitched in north norfolk, it was quite windy, is it normal for wind to go through the fabric (even the inner tent was billowing)? is this because it is one of the lower weight cottons (285g/m2)? this is my first cotton tent, and first time i have camped in windy weather, so don't know what to expect!

Are you sure the wind was blowing through the canvas, we were in north norfolk last week when they had the storms and although our canvas was tight there was still a little movement which caused the bedroom pods to sway a little. no sign of a draught though.

as for the loop missing and the tent not properly waterproof, send it back for replacement, if you accept their offer of a discount and supplying you with the loop to sew on yourself then this could cause you problems later on if you find another fault.
