Hi - there have been a few posts about Peakland tents but none since Sept last year, so I wondered if anyone has anything to add about their experiences with them. I'm considering a Peakland Alport.
Cheers!

No experience, but the review here seems generally favourable - It's an old tent though...
Is it the one on eBay you're looking at? No photos and very little detail in the listing would put me off

I have a Peakland Denby 500 which is a smashing little tent. I don't use it now because I have bought an Outwell Carolina 3 which is much bigger.
The Denby 500 is a 4 man tent but as usual, 2 men would be more comfortable. Standing room in the bedroom pod. Loose groundsheet in the porch area but the flysheet has mudflaps to keep out the wet and wind. Erects very easily by one person but the only drawback is that it erects inner first, which would be a problem in the rain.

Peakland tents are indeed made by Outwell, but I think that you will find that the materials are not of the same standard. Having said that, I've got a small 2-berth Peakland that I use from time to rime and it's fine for the price. If it's an inexpensive new tent rather than an ebay second-hand then also consider Quechua tents from Decathlon.

hi all, thanks for all the advice. I'm after a weekend tent for 3 or 4 of us, with a flexible sleeping area so my son can have a bit of privacy in the next year or so - at the moment he still likes to be in with the rest of us. A tunnel is best as I can pitch it largely by myself, which I can't with a dome. Budget is very limited which is why I'm ebay only. I do like the sound of this Alport, but clearly buying without seeing is a big risk.......decisions decisions........ If money was no object I'd be going for one of those nice ones with a canopy, they look cool. Outwell is it? One day.....

Our daughter bought a Peakland, but was rather disapointed by its quality, some parts appeared flimsy and it was only a 2000 hydrostatic head flysheet, which leaked and dripped in a heavy storm, and was cut rather short around the bottom in comparison with the poles. When we bought ur caravan we gave her our old Outwell Winfield, and shes very happy with that and its still going strong depite being almost 5 years old now.
For anyone living within traveling distance of Derbyshire, Yeomans camp show is now on at Darley Dale, situated at the garden centre almost opposite DFS.

Kate, what is your budget and which area do you come from please? I have a brand new 4 berth Outwell tent for sale similar to a Monana 4, which may be of interest to you. We ordered it before we bought our caravan for the purpose of a weekend tent/something easy for hubby to pitch alone due to me being disabled, but never used it, its still in its bag, and would sell at a reasonable price to free up the space in my spare room.
I did think of putting it on e-bay, but having never used them before to buy or sell anything, im a little unsure of how to do so, and would have to ask son in law to do it for me as im not that good at posting up piccys or sorting out things like paypal.

Hi Julia - thanks for the offer but sadly I think a 4 man is going to be a bit small for all of us when my husband joins us too - our airbeds are pretty big, I can't see them fitting in a 4 berth tent unfortunately! But many thanks for the thought.
Kate
