I have just purchased the Vango columbia 600 and i am trying to find a carpet to go with it. As the tent has now been discontinued nowhere seems to sell them.
Can anyone tell me where i can find one or a carpet for another make of tent that would fit.
thanks

There aren't any more Columbia 600 carpets out there - but you're in luck - the Vango Sungari 600 carpet is exactly the same size (the size and basic design of the tents is the same. The porch on the Columbia doesn't have a carpet). The footprint groundsheet for underneath the SIG is also the same if you want one of those too. The canopy for the Sungari 600 will also fit.
whooooo thank you for that! i am looking forward to trying it out......looking forward to the space inside more than anything.
We had the evolution 600 before, while it has alot of floor space there wasnt really alot of walking space with the sloping sides....but was a really good tent, we have had 2 years enjoyment out of it, but my boys are getting bigger now, no more kidi seats for them..........
There is no difference between the two Sungaris except they've added a zip at the base of the front door and called it DLX this year, so it won't affect the carpet or footprint size.
... here's wishing you some Columbian happy camping!
Bought our Columbia a year ago now but never used it as my weekender arrived beforehand and I fell in love with it!! lol Anyway, we finally used it last week and were actually really chuffed we did. The space was great, the little side room kept all the shoe's in and we opened up the front and both side doors with the really hot weather and all was great! Shall definitely be getting the carpet and the wide canopy. Make sure it's the wide you buy and not the large which doesn't fit properly.
You are unlikely to find a Vango "Wide Canopy" now. Having been looking for people over the last few months all the sources seem to have dried up now. The canopy currently available on the market that will fit is easy to identify - it is the "Sungari 600 canopy" (only comes in sage though - so if you have a blue/smoke Columbia I hope you don't mind the colour mismatch).
The alternatives are to keep an eye out for a second hand "Wide Canopy" on eBay - not seen one come up yet.... or look for a side fitting canopy/ extension.
Aye - the Vango "Large Canopy" only fits the Columbia 400 (not 600).
We haven't bothered with a canopy ourselves as we have a Vango Adventure Tarp which shelters the front door of the tent from above quite effectively on a wet day. We use it with all our tents and wouldn't get anything else in the car and trailer anyway...
I've recently got a Columbia 600, used from Ebay. I'm on the lookout for a cheap footprint and carpet, so if anyone has any suggestions (I'm scouring Ebay) I'd be really pleased to hear from you. I'm just too tight to spend £80 on a carpet! I can't bring myself to do it!
We've got a break booked in Tendy in the school holidays, whihc will be the tents, and the family's, maiden voyage - I can't wait!
Welcome to the Columbia owners club! We have two... the second as an ultimate replacement. Billiant tent!
I haven't seen a Columbia footprint or carpet around for a year or so now, but there is no reason why you can't cut down or sew 2 carpets together. They come in strips anyway, often using fabric binding as reinforcement. The footprints can be gaffer taped together... Gelert do cheaper carpets...
We use a cut down and fabric bounded Gelert carpet for one of our smaller tents as it was cheaper than the dedicated one. Just remember to check that the tent the carpet was originally designed for doesn't slope in at the sides, as the shape isn't always included in the size descriptions of carpets (and it won't be square if it does slope in).

I have been looking for a suitable canopy for my Columbia 600. I saw these on the link below. I wondered if they would be wide enough as they are 430cm and the tent is 445cm wide.http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=vango+wide+canopy&_sacat=36117&_dmpt=UK_SportsLeisure_HikingCamping_Tents_JN&_odkw=&_osacat=36117&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

I know - they are a bargain. I would get the seller to double check the measurements, as yes - the wide canopy is the one that was designed to go with the Columbia. I suspect that the width measurement is wrong or refers to the standup area as this will be smaller. Some of the other Vango canopies give stand up width rather than base width. It is nearlynewtents (an AMG/Vango outlet for end of range tents) that is selling them isn't it? They have very good customer service - so I'd just ring.
I only know of 1 version of the wide canopy, and that was definitely designed specifically for the Columbia and Sungari 600s. BTW - the Samara enclosed canopy should also fit. I don't thnk that Vango have done a tent of the width that would go with a 430cm canopy since they have started doing canopies either, so my guess is that the width measurement is an error.
Good luck! BTW - My OH still says that we don't need one, but to be honest we don't as we generally cook in the tent or outside under a Vango Adverture tarp if its wet. It is an excellent price. Second hand ones have been going for over £100 on ebay.
