Mine was a birthday present for when I did the DOE Gold Award expedition (approx 27 years ago).

Lovely lightweight tent, and easy to put up.

The only downside was trying to get dressed/undressed whilst lying down.

Hi
The Peapod came out at the same time as the Fazer dome...These were the first affordable techy tents. I say affordable the Peapod was £99.99 in 1982/3 when they were released.
Up to this point most people were using light weight ridge tents such as Robert Saunders tents.
Ref the price it just goes to show how cheap tents are now, a similar tent with a better spec from Vango would cost about the same as the Peapod was back then.

Gary.

I've now come into possession of the Peapod again. (Its a long story), But if you still fancy a wee swap for something or other let me know. I'll take photos and give it a thorough check obviously as I've not seen it for a year but it was camped in earlier this week and still seems to be in decent condition for its age.

HI,

I am desperately looking for this tent.
I took my dads to a festival not realising its sentimental value to him and am now searching high and low for a replacement.
please let me know if you would be happy to sell this and for what price?

thanks

Hi Emma,
I can't help with the desperate search, unfortunately, but I am somewhat perplexed as to why dad didn't happen to mention such "great sentimental value", before allowing his daughter to drag it along to a festival... presumably only to return in a poor state... or not return at all!

I also wonder just how much sentimental value a complete replacement would hold!

... I also wonder whether dad is even currently aware that daughter is indeed, at this very moment, searching for a replacement as a matter of urgency!

But hey... that's just me, being a nosy git!

I wish you well in your search... "Name your price", you say? Hmmm...

Ooh... May I ask, are you an only daughter, or does your father have others to turn to?

Emma

If you’re still after a Peapod, let me know as I think I still have one in great condition which I’m happy to pass on.

Roger

Hi Chris

By sheer coincidence I was doing a bit of work on my own Peapod today, and just came on here out of curiosity! I may be able to help with a pole section. I don't have a spare but I have a lot of old tent poles and there may be a section that fits. I'll get the old poles out when I take it down and check the lengths and thicknesses.

Can you contact me by email on jellsmail at gmail.com? I'll reply there with some pictures if I have any luck.

Jell
