A lot of you gave me some great advice on what tents not to buy ;) and gave me some ideas of possible tents for our family.
I have now decided I am getting the Gelert Beyond Corvus 6+2. I have spoken at length to my local centre... I know some folk had a few problems with the footprint staying flat, but this wasnt an issue with the one at the showroom and I will have a dry run with the tent (and a longstanding camper to help me) I have also booked 2 nights at Fforest fields in Builth Wells to have our first jaunt ....
Now need to make sure i have got everything we need !
Thanks for everyones help with tent decision...
I will probably have 1001 more questiosn now re equipment.

We've just bought a Gelert Corvus too, well a couple of months ago, and had one trip out in it so far. I have posted a couple of times on here but not got any response so I'm assuming there aren't a real lot of them about. We fell in love with it at the showroom and it lived up to all expectations on the first trip out. The bedrooms are a good size and nice layout and we loved the living area, so light and airy. In fairness, as you mentioned, the front, under the windows, did rise up a little when we pitched but we think it was because we were on a slight slope. Our next trip out is also Fforest Fields, 4 weeks on Saturday and we can't wait.

I have just booked two days 3/4 august as our first time, FF isnt that far from us so not too far to travel on top of an age to put up the tent :)
Our cat is expecting kittens so dont want to comit to more days. but have spoken to Katie at FF and she said we could extend our stay if everything is ok :)
I have read quite a lot of stuff on the corvus... afew reports about the tricky errection but good reports otherwise.
We're there for 2 weeks so we'll probably see you, we leave on 7th August. It's our first time at FF and we're on one of the new all weather pitches, having suffered from very wet sites the last couple of years this is quite a relief, we're really looking forward to it.
We had a Campus Indiana 8 prior to the Corvus and although the Corvus is slightly bigger we think it actually went up quicker, especially seeing as it was the first time we'd done it. We also used our Khyam sun porch with it and it fit fine, different colour but we're not snobby enough to worry about that lol.
