Ok after some long searching and have a look at some tents when erected i think ive decided on the vango beta 350http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/vango-beta-350-3-berth-tent-p99385 before i buy would anyone tell me if im making the wrong mistake. Id decided to get the tent as once looking at 1 on display there porch area wasnt too bad and the sleeping area is fine for me plus i did an example layout of the sleeping area and found it adequate, ive read the reviews on the site. Any thoughts on the choice of tent.
Only thing i dont like is the ground sheet not being sewn into the porch/living area, are all tents like this ?

I like this tent and would be quite happy to purchase one if I had a need for one, although I admit I'd look at the 450 as an alternative because I like the space.
The fact the ground sheet isn't sown in on the porch isn't that big a deal and means you don't have to use it at all if the weather is fine like it is right now.
An alternative, with a sown in groundsheet, is the Vango Kairos 300 or 400 (although avoid the 500 version the door isn't a good design) and the benefit with this tent is the stand up height with a relatively small footprint.
We have the 450 and love it. The porch not being sown in isn't a big deal as we keep our clothes in the boot of the car in case of dampness anyway.
Our Beta is the black and grey one (excalibur?) and was absolutely roasting this last week in the sunshine, not sure if the paler colour would have made a difference though as it was at least 24c everyday. We were glad of the ventilation at night

If the groundsheet was sewn in to the portch you'd probably drown in condensation. It needs to be loose to get enough ventilation in a tent that size.
I've got a Beta 350 on my list of "to buy" tents though, so I must like it.
yes i se your point, i was thinking of in terms of it raining, would the rain get into the porch but if there was a posibility of rain then i could always stick stuff in the sleeping area

only thing with the beta 450 is that the sleeping area isnt as big from head to toe but as its just for me, im about 5 11 so would the 450 be big enough, i think i measured the 350 wrong
I'm 5' 1" and hubby 5' 3" and we just fit in on our airbeds (heads at the door of the bedroom pod, feet towards the back of the tent) and no more.
Since it is just yourself you could sleep sideways in the 450 no problem as we fit in a double airbed and a single with room for a holdall at my side, so I'm sure it is more than 6' wide, I'll measure later if you want, but I wont be back online for a few days unfortunately, to tell you. The only reason we dont sleep sideways is the slope at the rear of the tent is quite low so someone would have a face full of inner at night.

My 3 Boys use the beta 400, easy to erect. they had a vanga ventura 400, which at the time had a sewn in groundsheet in the living area attatched to the fky sheet, very good but a devil to fold up
go fot it
