I am looking for a tent which would be suitable for one person to erect. The tent should be large enough to store equipment inside whilst I am away. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

A Kyham Freelander, which has a bedroom with SIG or a Cabanon Noumea which has a complete SIG, is canvas and very sturdy but more weighty.

The Vango Beta range is an easy to put up tent with the 450 being the biggest, which is comfortable to sit in but not quite standing height.

Or the Freelander as others have said.

Unless backpacking look for a suitable 2-3man tent, you will find that no matter how much extra space you have got you will end up using/ being glad to have it!

I would second that, if you're car camping a 3 or even 4 person tent can give that extra usability, I'm on my own & use one of these.
I won't bang on about it now, I'm sure everyone is all too well aware of how much I rate this tent

Nutgone I'm looking forward to your review too. I see it's big enough to put both a double and a single airbed in, which makes it a sizeable tent really.

I'm looking forward to my review as well! I've only given it the most basic of tests, it looks like it's going to be a baptism of fire, in France, for my Regatta 4 man! (Fingers really tightly crossed!)

God I hope it works! Otherwise I'm going to look pretty silly

. I will review it either way though, probably from wherever I can get free wifi in France

Licata 300 or 400 would be lovely for a solo camper and can be pitched by one person.

For car camping on my own, the Vango Force Ten mk 5 is perfect: lots of room for one, it's cotton and pitches in ten minutes.

For backpacking I've found the Crux Storm to be surprisingly good but as it's a geodesic, it takes a bit longer to put up and it's a bit of a struggle to get the poles into their mountings but I've got the ghang of it now.

I am a solo camper and have a Khyam Chatsworth, the quick erect system and can get the tent up and everything in it within an hour. I love it, its a four berth so plenty of room for everything, me and my dog.

I used to use a Khyam one touch 2 man dome tent, some years ago (I think the system was quite new back then), it was advertised as being able to erect in a minute, which could actually be achieved. Fantastic tents. I think I will put one on my wish list for when my finances improve. But for now the Regatta will do fine, it's nice & roomy & very easy to put up.
