My brand new Quechua 2 seconds 3 man tent smells a bit musty even though I've not used it yet - has anyone else experienced this? Will the smell go on it's own or can I do something to make it a bit more fragrant?!

Nope, it all looks fine, just a vague mustiness. Was really looking forward to that lovely new-tent smell! Think I'll ring up Decathlon and see what they say....takes an hour to get there though and need tent for friday :(. Next time I'll open it in the shop I think.....!
Thanks for your replies!

I have to say decathlon are usually preety good, perhaps its just where they have been stored in the warehouse? a good airing might do it the world of good
Wow how's this for amazing customer service....just spoken to the manager of Decathlon and they're sending me a new tent straight away (pre-checked for mustiness!) and because I live so far away there's no need to return the other one. So chuffed...fantastic service! I've always loved their products, and can now say I've never experienced better customer service anywhere else....ever!!
Hopefully the new one will arrive by Friday morning (when I need it) otherwise I'll have to spray the inside of this one liberally with perfume!
Great result !
well,I'd pitch it and give it a good soaking with a hosepipe and let it dry and have a good airing
if that doesnt work, sprinkle a pot of bicarbonate of soda inside it ? thats supposed to absorb odours ,then give it hoovering out to get the bicarb out .
If nothing else works and only as a last resort , wash the groundsheet with a damp cloth with a mild solution of bleach,or disinfectant , leave it to dry and then wash over it again with a cloth and some fabric softener. The smell of Lenor lingers for ages .
