Hi - we've had both a Vango Orchy and now have an Outwell Vermont and have enjoyed our trips in both of them. There is a difference in quality, the Outwell is sturdier, better HH and has better features. When it comes to replacing the tent, we're likely to go for another Outwell. But, as a starter tent, the Vango was great. Stood up to some typical Scottish weather over a bank holiday weekend, didn't leak and was relatively windproof. Like other posts, I'd say that yes you do get what you pay for and shelling out the extra for the Outwell is, in our opinion, very much worth it.
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
I personally don't think theres much of a difference between them. I would almost say that they ue the same factories in china for both. If they do then they will use the same machiniests and the same materials as all apart from Kampa use a 75 D material.
The only differeces will be the name badge. Outwell used to use more features but lately due to rising costs have really cut back so there is not much in it anymore.
Outwell does alot more marketing and somewhere down the line someone has to pay for all that.
we have the vango columbia 5000 hh its a great family tent, personally I think marketing comes into play, we last camped next to an outwell tent and couldn't see any major differences
