Further to previous posts from Matt & johnmarie. I mentioned previously that I was able to obtain some spare parts and have repairs done until a couple of years ago, Pearl was the lady who did the work for me and a number of my friends, not only on jovi's but also motorhome awnings and such like, she stocked a considerable amount of the original fabric used in Jovi's, she supplied a bedroom for us after we bought our tents. Our tents were early versions which did not have the stiffening frames added to the upper area of the tent which was added to the later versions to make them more rigid in the roof area. Pearl modified both of our tents and supplied the alloy frames as later versions. This lady is a master seamstress in tent and awning making and repair, having Pearl's workshop at kingswinford was very convenient for us living at Stourport on Severn, we thought she would always be there, however now for the bad news. In August last year I had to visit a company on the same small industrial estate at Kingswinford as Pearl's workshop and decided to visit her before leaving, on arrival I found the place empty, I looked around and found a couple of people sitting outside a nearby unit and asked if they knew anything of Pearl and her business. I was shocked to hear that she had closed the business so that she could look after her son who had been diagnosed to be terminally ill with cancer. I have no confirmation of this and have not made any enquiries to confirm. I felt it better just left alone. I felt more comfortable not mentioning her name or last known whereabouts in my previous post . If anyone has any good news about Pearl, I would really like to know. y

Oh dear that is sad news, I had read in another post that she had retired but was under the impression the original buisness was continuing with one of her employees taking over. Maybe the original poster was incorrect.

Hello johnmarie & others. One thing I didn't mention previously, ( I thought I was begining to ramble ) was that I phoned the tel no on Pearls website to be given an alternative no for a tent / leisure company in Bolton. It turns out that they aquired her tel no, I rang not knowing what to expect and got a woman who had not a clue what a Jovi was ! So unless Pearl reappears somewhere the story ends. I do sincerely wish her well.
One last thing. I also have bought Khyam tents in the past and still have one that my 2 lads use, theres a couple of tents in their range of a similar design to Jovi's but much lighter, the screenhouse and screendome. I can reccommend Khyam quality and after sales. I would buy no other make personally because of my experience of them, they are also fairly local to me and I like that.

Hi davib, I cant find the thread anymore where pearl was mentioned but you may have seen it. It was the one where a guy said he used to make certain types of frame tents in the 70s and he had one to get rid of, it was a really big thread so I'm surprised i cant find it but if you can find it he may have more info about who may have took over from Pearl (if they really have).

Hi all, Sorry to raise this subject once agian, Im just about to put my Jovi on ebay.
I thought i would also put it on this site and give someone the opportunity from this site to enjoy this tent.
Its got 2 bedroom comaprtments attachements which are great but unfortunatley the poles have been stolen. Im willing to look at sensible offers.
It will have to be collection only, B24 0AQ
