After much researched, we were heading towards buying a Kampa Croyde 6 - seems v similar to the Outwell Arkansas 5 but for a lot less money at £299. We headed down to our nearest Kampa distributor to take a look. They didn't have the Croybe 6, but the Filey 6, which we felt from the research was a relatively similar beast to the Croyde minus the Sleepnite and some of the extras incl the extra side bit.
When we spoke the ppl at the shop, they said they didn't stock the Croyde 6 because of the issues with the Lulworth and that Kampa had rebranded the Lulworth to Croyde 6 to get over these issues from a selling perspective. We were told that the Lulworth had issues with the groundsheet and that they were being ripped out/ replaced and not done properly. Also that the poles on the Croyde / Lulworth and the tent material were of poor quality and not nearly a patch on the Kampa Filey 6.
It would be great if anyone could shed any light on this this. On paper it the CRoyde 6 reads to be a great value for money tent, and I don't want to be put off in there by an inaccurate story. Thanks.

Hiya, we have a Croyde 6 and we are extremely pleased with it, some people on a site we were on recently had the Lulworth 6 and he was resealing the ground sheet as apparently that was what the problem was with the Lulworth - having said that he had got a bargain with it as he got it for £99!!!!

We certainly havent got any problems with our Croyde and I would recommend it to anyone, the only thing i wouldnt recommend is the footprint, I dont think its particularly good quality and I would buy a groundsheet and make my own if i hadnt already bought one.

We paid £299 for ours and its been well worth every penny

I don'y know about the 6 berth Kampa range but our camping shop steered ustowards the Frinton 4 rather than the Fistral 4 tunnel style as they had had a couple of returns with leaking seams in the Fistral.

The Frinton is fantasic quality (one of their ultimate range) - equal to Outwell and better than Vango imho.

Yes its been perfectly stable must admit we haven't pitched it in gales or anything but it doesnt move - it wobbled a bit once but I had forgotten to put the tensioning poles in it!!!!!!

It seems to have that many guy ropes I cant see it going anywhere!  any more questions feel free to ask
