We have a lovely Montana 6 that I adore but DH now wants a tent that is quicker and easier to put up. If we have a smaller/easier tent he will go camping more often.
I have to sell the Monty but don't know where to start as there are even more options than last year. I've been looking at the Icarus in either 400 or 500 options, are they really that much quicker to put up? Can anyone advise on any other tents. I probably have £150 to spend.
Thank you xx

I'll get the ball rolling, if a 4 berth vis a vis tent ticks the boxes for you. Cost, £149.99.

The Icarus 400 isn't tall enough to stand up in. The 500 is. If you want something a bit more roomier there's a Icarus 600, and even a Icarus 600 DLX (limitied edition unfortunately)
There's a thread around here where the Icarus 500 is for sale somewhere for £101, try in 'camping under canvas'.

Go for the Icarus 600 it's got more room than the 500, and I am sure that you will find a use for it. Why don't you do what many here do
Monty6 - for breaks of a week or more due to the room available
Icarus 600 - for weekend and short trips due to the pitching time
Have both, keep both = the very best of both worlds

I'm with Magicman2 here. My OH said more or less the same. We love the Monty, wouldn't swap it, and we can be pitched, carpeted and airbedded in about an hour, but OH reasoned that if we had a smaller, lighter tent then one of us could take the kids, we could go for one night (did this in our old tent, but not in the Monty) or just grab the tent bag on Friday after work and go! The Icarus500 is great for this as it's all in one bag. First pitch was on site, we'd had the tent less than 24hrs, forgot to take a mallet so used OH's walking boots and it still was up in about 15 mins! Keep both, see how you get on before selling the Monty.
