Anyone still using a Gelert Quebec 8+4. We have one which we are thinking of bringing out of retirement, before we get a new tent. Only used three times.
We've always hated it. Not for the tent itself, it's massive and plenty of room.
But somehow it's seems awful to put up and I'm sure we are doing something wrong. Two of the poles snapped last time we tried.
Does anyone have a tried and tested method for getting the tent up easily! Thanks Also any recommendations for cheap replacement poles!!
Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
we have the Quebec and love it i havent had problems putting it up but i think the hardest part is the middle poles maybe? most folk on here say one person get in side then zip up the they take weight of the poles as the other places them into pins then peg down hope that helps but try search on quebec there is a few threads about pitching it

Hopefully somewhere for a weekend in Sept
I too had a Quebec and had no problems when pitching. I gave it away to a couple who were pitched next to us at the Black Bear Pickering who were struggling with a toddler and themselves in a tiny Eurohike tent. It was far too big for just the two of us and I've got plenty of tents so I thought why not ? Hope they are enjoying it.
