After many weeks of reading reviews and visiting showrooms, I have finally bought a Kampa Carbis 5 after seeing it pitched at Camperlands Northenden.
However, there's no reviews of it on here (or anywhere as far as i can see). Was wondering if anyone has purchased this tent and could give me their opinions. All the Kampa reviews i've read all seem positive and score pretty high. I've a Vango at the moment but have to say the quality of the Kampa seems far better, i guess only time will tell.

Just purchased one ourselves this week-end, and have fallen in love with it. Only had a Halfords starter tent to see if we liked camping and was hooked from the minute we arrived on the site. We must have looked at 500 tents before buying the Kampa and it will suit our family needs so well, hubby and me and 8 and 4 year old. Only had it up in the garden (took about an hour to pitch ) , but we're going away at the week-end and we can't wait. The best thing I like about the tent is the zip-off door, needed somewhere to cook and throw shoes etc. but love the space inside, hoping it brightens up before we go (not hopeful!!), but loads of room inside for the kids to play and us to chill-out. Enjoy your lovely new tent, when are you going away?
We're going away on 5 August for 4 nights, then again bank holiday weekend. There's only me and the wife, and our Irish Setter. Had our Vango about 4 years but never had to sit in it continually until this Easter when we went to the Riverside at Ulleswater and it poured down the whole time we were there, our Vango was a 5 Birth but the living space was just too small, thats what we like about the Kampa (plus all the windows). We're picking it up tonight so i'll be giving a trial run in the garden over the weekend to make sure it's all in working order. We'll post in the reviews section when we've used it fully, as nobody else has at present.
Hope you have a good week-end, we're away on Saturday to the North-East coast (near Hull), bit of a trek from Blackpool but it was cheap!!! Will post our review when we get home next week. Fingers crossed for good weather, it was so hot and sunny last time and only problem we had was condensation (cheap tent, no ventilation). Taking lots of games and DVD's just in case this time but know there's loads of room for the kids to play inside. Let you know how we get on.

Don't know if you've picked up on this, but the secondary door (window door on left rear) only fastens with 2 vertical zips either side and does not fasten across the bottom. It does overlap the S.I.G, but if its windy there could well be a nasty draft. It is possible to stitch a velcro strip across both the groundsheet and the doors overhang without breaking the integrity of the actual tent, as Kampa have done with main front door. I've just rang Kampa and spoken them about the problem and asked if I were to get Camperlands to do this for me (who are an authorized repair centre), would this break the warranty, and was told "yes it probably would", so it looks like I'll have to see how it goes as it is, or stitch it on myself as warranty will be void no matter who does it.
To be fair to Kampa they did state that the velcro would be a good idea and are passing it on to the design department, so future tents may well have this incorporated in the design.
I also had a problem with the left side door not fastening at the bottom - last time we used our carbis it was very windy and a shower left us with a puddle in the tent! Bad design fault on an otherwise excellent tent.
