Our Minnesota 4 is an excellent tent but it has some irritating short comings which we'd like to remedy. Does anyone know of a really good alterationists in the Preston area that could undertake quality work at a reasonable price?

Unbelievable! I've searched for months for somewhere and forty minutes after posting the enquiry I stumble across the web site for LSR (the hyperlink dialogue box doesn't seem to work so: http://www.lsr.gb.com/tent_repairs_awning_repairs.htm)
We live in Lytham but there's actually very little locally that is much good for outdoor gear and Preston is the nearest centre to us. Thanks for the link, I've e-miled them about the work.

what are you planning on doing? We would love to put a door on our extension, is this what you are thinking? This would not only give us more storage, but also mean that in windy weather we could keep the extension up, we experienced a very windy night and had to take the extension down as the wind was threatening to take it completely off - or so we felt! After this is done we would also like to get another bedroom pod which we could take down during the day as it would be in the living area So given that we are relatively near would also love the number for the Darwen lady!
I've been to the Darwen lady a couple of years ago but no longer have her phone number...Her workshop is quite close to Blackburn Rovers Football Club just under a fly-over in what looks like a farmhouse many years ago.
Ribble: Our extension hovered about six inches off the ground one night last year, in the Peaks. I simply double pegged the ring at opposite angles and it worked though I had to keep checking them.

So are you thinking of adding a front door panel to stop the parachute effect?
Sounds like an interesting project. Many people here I think would like to see the finished item if it comes off.
At present I'm planning just to correct the manufacturing faults and design shortcomings of the original tent and I'll continue to double or triple peg the extension and canopy on windy nights.
