fellow campers - we need some urgent advice! We are off to France on Friday next week and had intended to take two small tents for a series of 2 night stops. However, I have hurt my back and we need a tent with more headroom. We already have a Montana 6 (which we use for longer camping trips) so the new tent is just for overnight/weekend use.
Our criteria are that it must have enough room for 4 Coleman Comfort air-beds (85cm wide) with room in between (so kids can't fight!); it must have sewn in groundsheet; it must be as quick as possible to erect and take down; it mustn't take up too much room in the car.We are not bothered about windows or colour and budget is flexible.

Given that you are going to France and it is likely to be nice and warm this is my suggestion.
The Quechua Base Seconds 4.2 is a 4 berth having two bedroom pods vis a vis. It is a pop up so goes up and down in just minutes but has plenty of headroom in the main section.
The bedroom pods are only 140 X 220 cm. However the middle section could easily be used for sleeping in. So you could stick 1 child in each pod with bags of room and then you and OH sleep in the middle section. If you get the Coleman carpet 230x230 that will fit perfectly in the middle and make it nice and comfy.
We have one of these tents with an added Base Seconds that we dock to it if staying for more than a few nights. When we went away in June to France we realised that we could do what I have suggested above to make sleeping more comfortable because we spent all our time outside the tent.
