We have taken delivery of our Outwell Hartford XL, but on checking the contents my husband was pretty sure that a tent pole was missing. He went through it over the phone with a nice Yeomans chap and they concluded that yes, there was a red pole missing.
My problem is that there is no check list in with the tent, and he hasn't been able to find a list anywhere on-line that he can check against what has arrived with the tent. We need to find out if anything else is missing.
Can anyone help or point us in the right direction please....or do we just have to put the tent up and see
thanks

Ok, doing this from memory, i believe you should have.....
2 x Red Poles
1 x Black pole
2 x Porch Poles
3 x Bedroom poles blue
2 x Yellow poles
1 x bag pegs
Doormat
Thermometer
Apologies if the colours are not all correct, but im pretty certain there should be 10 poles. One thing is for sure, and you may be able to see from the pic below is two red poles are definately required.(note the red tab on sleeves)
You have made a great choice,we love this tent, one thing..... when erecting i would not follow the instructions as they advise you to put three main poles & bedroom poles in,this makes the tent very heavy and the poles fly around all over the place-this can be a real danger to eyes & other parts!
We lay the tent out, thread the three longest poles through, one person then goes inside & lifts centre ot tent other runs round and does the ring & pin.We then insert bedroom poles and leave the porch till last..... you may know all this and others may do it differently, but it works for us.
Hope you enjoy it as much as we do...
Cheers HL

Hi, we just had a Hartford XL delivered the other day and like Gymbob there are only 10 poles plus a spare, yet in the illustration there are clearly 11 poles. Looking at HardyLardy's pic the middle bedroom/back door only needs one pole whereas in the illustration it shows two so I am assuming the diagram is wrong. Can either of you guys confirm this as I won't have chance to pitch my tent until a couple of week's time and the firm who supplied it (Outdoor World) need to know of any "shortages" within 48 hours.
Hey, HardyLardy, did you say you got pegs, a thermometer and a doormat with yours? I didn't with my mine. Were they in a different box or were they rolled up in the middle of the main tent (I haven't unfurled it yet). What about you Gymbob? I know they don't cost much but I don't like the idea that someone might have pinched them. The tent did seem pretty cheap compared to the retail price.
Seems a pretty stupid oversight not to include a list of contents eh? Tut tut Outwell.
I wonder if you can help me please I have just brought one second hand and all the poles are strung together other then the porch ones please could I ask how many poles are altogether on the front bit of the porch and the back bit of the porch please
