Hi Keith , its a fairly straightforward tunnel tent, may have a sewn in groundsheet or be the one with a seperate groundsheet .

assemble the poles for the roof .they might all be the same length , but If there is one thats a little shorter than the rest ,that will be the one that goes at the back of the tent, over the bedroom area.

lay the flysheet out , thread the poles through the sleeves, starting with the one for back end . push , dont pull or they will come apart. at the bottom of the flysheet there will be a ring with a pin . the pin goes in the end of the pole. Put the pin in one end of the pole, bend it and fix the other pin in the other end . lie the pole down .
do the next one the same way , and continue till all poles have pins in and lie them one on top the other . You should now have a series of arches .
With one person each side, lift the whole lot up together . Peg the back corners of the tent down, and the guylines for the back pole , then walk the arches forward pulling it out straight as you go . peg out the front guylines to hold the tent up .
peg down the front corners . peg the rings (that the pins are attached to )down to hold the poles in place. peg out all the guylines . Make sure the doors are fully closed before you peg it all down and the zip operates freely without pulling the tent fabric .I think you have a front canopy , its just one pole ,use same method as before to erect this . I have no idea if its permanently attached or if it clips or zips on to the front.

If you have the one with seperate groundsheet :

Lay the groundsheet inside. If there are tension straps lying across the floor, make sure these are not twisted and that they are lying flat and in straight lines . groundsheet goes on top of the straps .

I'm not 100% sure , but it might have hooks to attach the sides up the tent walls .If not, just peg it down making sure that none is sticking out , or rain will run down off the sides and into the tent.
hang the bedrooms up and thats about it.
Some tunnel tents (but not all) have side support poles that run the length of the tent , from front to back .
If you have these , there will be little pockets sewn into the tent front and back, with hangers( velcro tabs or loops perhaps ) to support them at intervals too. usually about shoulder height .These go in last after the tent is pitched .

Thank you Debbie,

I did have a Monty 6 and it sounds  very much  the same ie start at the back ETC but it was the Steel Poles that re-inforces the tent!!

I can not get me head round the fact that placing steel poles in to a "velcro  sleeve re-inforces the tent....any scientists out there can explain?

Have nice week-end all......thanks again Debbie

Here are Royals own instructions for the Avignon 6:

1. Lie the fly sheet out on the ground. Take care to ensure that the webbing adjustment points on both sides of the fly are slackened off to give the maximum length of webbing between both sets of pins and rings.

2. Take each pole and feed through the sleeve from one side of the fly to the other. Always push the poles as opposed to pulling them as this way they will always hold together as one. Once all poles are sleeved through the fly then start to make them into the loop. Take the rear pole first and insert the end ferrule into the pin on the webbing ring.

3. Cross to the other side of the fly and pull the webbing across to enable the opposite pin to be placed in the free end of the pole, this should make the pole into a semi circle.

4.Repeat this with the three other poles, so that they are semi circles, and laid out on the ground.

5. With another person assisting, pull the tent up so that the front pole is vertical and located where you want it. Now peg out the front guy lines so that they support the front pole to stand alone.

6. Pull the rest of the tent back to make the sides taut and peg out the two rear guy lines. Adjust the pole tensioning straps (at the pin and ring buckle) to take the slack out of the fly sheet.

7. Now the tent can be pegged out through the pins and rings for all four poles, either side of the tent. Make sure the poles are in a straight line to the vertical seams on the tent fly and that they are in a straight line.

8.Now take the sprung metal poles and assemble them into one length per pole, ensure that these are adjusted to their shortest length. With both of them constructed feed them inside the tent in line with the ties on the sidewall above the ventilated windows. Extend the pole to take up some of the slack through the side of the tent, make sure the pole slots into the black webbing pockets at both the front and rear of the tent. These are not stretching poles, but designed as stabilisers to stop the tent moving in excessive winds. Once any slack is taken out of the side of the tent tighten the clamp on the side of the pole tube. Sleeves are provided for these poles to prevent condensation forming on them.

9. Peg out the rear section of the tent to give the extra space in the sleeping cabins. Once this is done you can now pitch the three cabins. Pitch the corners furthest away from the door first, attach the suspension elastics for the back of the cabin and then work to the front.

10. The front of each cabin should lline up with the webbing strap below the last window of the living area. This will give a small amount of space between the cabin and the fly at the rear of the tent.

11. Finally fit the zip in door to either front or rear position as required. Add the rest of the guy lines and pitch out.

12. If required, zip on the sun canopy to the front of the tent, the frame slides through the sleeve on the canopy front. Use the canopy poles only in good weather and never leave the canopy up unattended.

It doesn't say anywhere in there about putting the groundsheet down so don't forget before you put the sleeping pods in.

Hope this helps,
