Hi I'm pretty new to camping and I am thinking of buying a 6 berth tent, for 4 of us with a little extra room.

I like the idea of 2 bedrooms one at either end of the tent with living space in the middle.

I think I'd like a sewn in groundsheet to keep the crawlies out and the tents I've been considering are:-

Vango Tigris 600

Hi Gear Zenobia 6 berth

Coleman Riverside 6 deluxe

Or open to ideas if anyone knows of a better model than the above, just wondered what everyone thinks of the above tents.

Any advice or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers guys

Hi we have the Zenobia 6 with the front porch and it is great. We are only a family four and have loads of room. I think its currently reduced in Go Outdoors, im sure it was only £165 when we went in the week.

Gelert Horizon 6 fits you bill. two BIG bedrooms, large central living area that you can easily stand up in. Easy to erect.

Job done!

We have a Kampa Croyde 6, really pleased with it - 2 bedrooms side by side, 1 sleeps 4 and the other 2, can roll up partition if there are only 2 of you and have an enormous bedroom - lounge space is massive, built in porch, really easy to put up, cant speak highly enough of it - £299

we had the Zenobia and it was a pretty good tent but only used it once before selling and getting the Bear Lake.  We also bought the carpet and the porch which is great for kitchen equipment and shoes, it also stopped rain getting into the tent, so would recommend getting that if you can.  Go Outdoors is doing the Zenobia for a £165 but they are also doing the Vango Vista 800 (8 berth) for £129.99.  The Zenobia has a 3000HH whereas the Vango only has A 2000HH.  I would recommend going to a camping shop and try and view the tents you have mentioned erected to give you a better idea before you buy

Thanks all, I think I will visit go outdoors.

I have looked at so many, I'm a bit baffled by them all now. I've forgot which is which and like you say theres nothing like seeing them and standing in them to get a feel for which one.

I'm so excited to start camping its many years since I camped with the girl guides!!...many, many years in fact - and I know my kids are just going to love it.

I'm in danger of getting carried away with all the nick-nacks and accessories I can see me finding the perfect tent and all the bits then needing a new car to fit it all in!! LOL

Thank you so much for all your advice - much appreciated

Another vote for the Zenobia ( which is in fact the same tent as the Horizon 6 mentioned by someone else).

We bought ours last year - we actually use it at the mo with only onebedroom attached so we have oodles of living space - also bought the porch which we've not yet used.

for a family of 4 it's a fab tent.

Happy shopping

Why not have a look at the sunncamp shadow 600. Loads of space and bedrooms at either end. I just bought the 800 this year and love it. Well worth a look

Another vote for the Gelert Horizon 6, its huge, maybe tight for 6 adults but comfortable for 4 adults, even more so for a familly.

ive got a gelert beyon corvus 6+2 and its fantastic, loads of room and if the weathers bad then your not cramped, also with it been a 6+2 it gives you the option of adding a bedroom if extra family or friends come with you. £400 but worth every penny and we've just got the canopy for the front and the carpet to add a little extra luxury

over and out peeps

I like the look of the Kampa Holkham 6 personally. It has the added benefit of being poly cotton (bit dearer though)...
