Calling all bell tent owners - am hopefully putting in an order for a bell tent tomorrow. We want the 5m version, but cannot decide whether or not to go for the cheaper separate ground sheet, or the more expensive ZIG.
We are off to france in a couple of weeks, (usually with a montana 6) - we normally have a series of long weekend camping trips in the UK, and a 2/3 week camping trip abroad - does anyone have any advice about which ground sheet is best suited to our usage?
Also, was planning on buying from Belltent.co.uk (unless advised on here to the contrary . . . . ?

We purchased a 4m from belltent.co.uk.Delivery was speedy and so far so good no problems.I was very glad I chose the separate groundsheet as the sheet was very dirty when we lifted it.Folded it up separate from tent then cleaned off once home. The tent is so easy to put up for one person.Once piece off advice though would be to buy a tarp aswell but from Obelink. They are cheaper and exactly the same thing.I ordered mine from Holland on a Sunday night and it arrived Wed am.
I'm afraid I made the wrong decision for us and bought the 5m with seperate groundsheet. It proved to be rather draughty, difficult to get the shape perfect and the frame at door kept slipping (not sure if this an issue with the tent or the user!!). I am also now concerned about any creatures that might decide to pay a visit if camping in a forested area! Also the canvas where tent is pegged to the ground can get very dirty in wet weather (not an issue with the built-in groundsheet as the canvas is not at ground level). We adored the bell tent style itself so annoyed we got the wrong one!

Thanks for all your input - we have now ordered a 5m ZIG in order to give us the best of both worlds - very excited - have spent a fortune on the internet over the past few days, bell tent, tarp from obelink, multi pack of cobblestones for the Cobb and now I see there is a collapsible set of bowls, colanders sieves etc from Asda - where will it end??
Off to france in less than two weeks - Bell tent should be arriving tomorrow - fantastic!!
