Did you put all the poles in first and try to erect the tent. That's what we did first time and found it was too heavy as well. We now do it this way and its a lot easier. We put a couple of pegs in the ground sheet at the back only to start with. Then what we do is put the rear poles in and stand this up and then put a couple of guys out to hold this up. We then put the next pole in and erect and then the next one etc. Just a simple case of "walking the separate sections along to take up any slack and then peg everything out. Its easier doing than writing it down.lol.

------------- were caravaning but now tenting and now back to a caravan
Wew do it exactly as Dean described too, we tried to do it with all poles threaded when we test fired the tent but it weighs a ton ! Peg your back two corners, thread the rear most poles and then guy it with the two main rear guylines. Thread the rest one at a time and then "walk" it out from rear to front to tighten it up and then peg your front main guys and the front corners. We're just dreading dropping ours either in the rain or when the tent is wet, we've nowhere to dry a dancehall like an Aspen !
