I've been looking around trying to find a bargain awning or possibly extension for the Monty but to no avail so have been thinking about maybe going for a utility tent instead.

After our last trip we found things difficult in the cooking department as it rained a lot and had no-where other than the main living area to do so, something I was not happy with for obvious reasons.

I'm not too worried at the moment about increasing our living space as I think there is plenty already so the awning/extension is not essential, plus I would be really concerned with fitting it in the car as we're cramming everything in as it is.  What I do need however is maybe a little utility tent but not having looked at them before I wonder if I could be pointed in the right direction.

By having an extra tent would this mean paying for an extra pitch do you know?

many thanks

laura

ps if anyone does know of any good deals on the awning/extension that would be great too, sure I could squeeze it in somehow

I have the outdoor revolution double outhose utility tent and find its great for cooking in . packs down to the size of a rolled beach towel.

It stood up to very strong winds no problem . Only one tiny critiscism , it could do with an extra pegging point at the back in the centre,as it did tent to blow inwards a bit, but it was in very strong winds at the time .

which I fixed by adding a cling on eyelet and pegged this . problem solved .
I've not had to pay extra for using it, it does depend on the site , some will charge a few pounds extra like they do for awnings/gazebos , but not a double pitch price .

Thanks for that Debbie, I shall have a look now.  Love the idea of it packing down so small, sounds ideal.

Just had a quick look at them Debbie, they look perfect for our needs.  Seem to be quite popular though as am struggling to find any in stock anywhere!  Couple on e-bay that have been used but shall keep my eye on them

I have seen posts saying that the polycotton ones are not so good as the synthetic type . the polycoton one sticks to itself and has caused tearing peeling it apart .
