We have had a bit of difficulty getting our poles to come apart - they have seemed really jammed together and taken a bit of force to come apart. Has anyone any ideas?

I sometimes have the same trouble with my tent poles, but give them a gentle tap with my rubber mallet around the bits that I can't pull apart, they then come apart easier.

fabsil as recommended above in a spay can would do the job, fabsil is a silicone based water proofing spray that is made for tents so not a problem if a little bit gets on the tent fabric
I started to use a squirt of fabsil on all of my pole joints after my first trip and have never had a problem with a tight one since, it also eliminates poles creaking in the wind too!!!
