Hi all, my hubby and I are complete novice campers and have yet to go "proper" camping LOL - we've pitched our tent and camped at my parents farm a couple of times but that's it!

My question is about our tent. We have a Montana 6 and have trouble putting it up. We don't have a problem actually getting it up, it's getting the pins in that we struggle with. Not sure where we're going wrong. Do you put the pins in before raising the poles/tent or after??? We've been trying to do it before, but like I said really struggle to get them in. Please can someone explain how to put the pins in easily?!?! It might be something really simple that we're not doing!

I agree with the above. Make sure the straps are fully loosened then tighten them once the tent is standing up.

I have found it easier to put the pins in while the poles are still on the ground.

Also you may find after putting the pins in on one side that the material needs pulling across on the roof poles toward the pins on the other side to give yourself a bit of slack. Outwells seem quite skimped on material and it gets very tight. You have to push and pull it around to get it where you want it.

Aha, so that's where we've been going wrong!!!! We haven't loosened off the straps. I'll do that next time.
