does any 1 know if there is a porch/canopy to fit the vermnot xl ,,only asking as the front of the vermont xl its sloped and could do with it being coved up

this is the only thing that lets the vermont xl down ,,would be nice to have the front door open when its raining to let some fresh air in

How come the side canopy isnt any use, it's massive and really gives you loads of extra space?

You could cover it with a tarp. tie down the sides and put poles in at the front.

the side canopy makes it over 5m wide,,this is then over a pitch size,,,i know that if i extend the front it will be over the 7m pitch size but it would be better to extend the front as then the next door pitch is not taken up ,allso think i would find it hard to use the side door if some 1 did pitch next to me

We have a side canopy which is great as long as you have the space.

The bigest problem is that without the side extension there is no way in, whilst its raining, without letting water into the tent.

The side doors should have the little proch things that some other outwell tents have, but then you are adding to the width I suppose. But at least the carpet wouldnt get wet.

If you have the front door up as a canopy in heavy rain then it comes in around the sides soaking the front porch, successfully creating an intent paddling pool.

It also gathers on the door until it starts dripping through the zips.

All outwell doors do seem to be designed to allow the maximum ammount of water down your neck during the rain.

I know it's almost 1m shorter than the width of the xl but would the side canopy not fit on the front. Might be worth a try. There seems to be a lot of extra material on the edges of the canopy.

I have tried using a tarp to go cover the front of our vermont XL,but it looked a bit crap as you have a top quality tent then cover it with a cheap 20 quid tarp, needless to say i took it down within 1/2 hour of erecting it as i was getting funny looks from our neigbours on the site.

I agree there must be an alternative canopy outwell make on other tents in the range that could be retro fitted without to much problem.

Hi, I agree, we need a front canopy, I have just been on a Christian holiday camp where 8000 people were on one camp site. I looked at a vew outwells and the front canpopy's were excellent idea. The side awning will not go on the front and it's a pain when it rains.
