I noticed a Khyam Highlander two person tent in a sale. A very quick up-and-down two person 'sleeping' dome. But even with a price reduction it was still the thick end of £80.

How do people think that compares with a two person pop up tent of a comparable quality ie double skinned, reasonable ventilation, some sort of porch area to protect the inner when going in and out in the rain etc etc?

I'm musing about single night use, eg for the last night of a longer trip, so want to keep it basic and simple but still wanting to be dry, and also have max height for a low tent iyswim. I have looked at the various little nylon tents we have here already but my heart sinks at the thought of threading poles, ring-and-pin etc - even on a small scale. Lol.

Any thoughts? I have had various Khyam QE tents in the past but only ever looked at pop ups in shops.

I've got a little Queuchua pop up and it's a brilliant little tent - me and dd have camped happily in it many times and it's kept us warm and dry. I'd have no qualms recommending it. The only reason we bought the Djakarta as well was because I wanted something with standing room and somewhere to sit in wet weather. Well OK, and because I was longing for some canvas

Thanks.

I looked at a Khyam Highlander in the camping shop today but couldn't feel any love for it, I'm afraid.

The Outwell Fusion 300 (in sage!) looks good on the net but its a lot of money. The Quechua Seconds + 111 looks a bit more affordable, but I haven't seen either up.

Wow I've just looked at the pics on the review page and it looks huge for a little tent! I haven't seen that model in the flesh so I can't say specifically how it is, but it looks a very nice short term home indeed on those pics!

we have just bought the quechua 2 SECONDS IIII
we have a large family tent but for 1 or 2 nights this tent is great, it takes 2 double air beds and is double skinned so no condensation worries, for the price its fantastic
we also bought the decathlon tarp £19.99 and pitch this over the tent it works well for added shelter and for somewhere to sit outside as well
