Please can someone advise me on an awning for my evo 400. When you open the doors the rain pours in. Does anyone know of an awning ( not the one designed for this tent, it is useless) that would do the job and be a decent size ?

We have just bought a Coleman Classic Side canopy for our Evolution 400 DL, for the reason you mention and for somewhere to put our cooking stuff, chairs, table etc when it rains. The fit isn't brilliant, but a flap goes right over the top of the tent and attaches with guys on the other side, which will stop the rain from coming in. I think, with a bit of jiggling, we can reduce the gap at the front end, but it was so blooming windy when we put it up, we were just happy it was still standing!
We've had an Evolution 400 for the last 5 years. We bought a Coleman Classic Canopy first which was fine. But it was a bit large for the tent really and not brilliant when it was a bit windy.
Last year we bought a Lichfield canopy which we find much better. It has two poles and reaches to the ground. We have found it much easier to put up. We had to add some extra to the back two guy ropes. You should be able to find one for £35-40 on the internet. There's some pictures on our gallery.
Unfortunately, the Lichfield and the Vango Universal canopies are now inexplicably discontinued and we were outbid so many times on ebay we just gave up on that idea. The Coleman does the job and we pitched it in quite high winds, so we know it will stay up (providing we don't camp on the slopes of Ben Nevis!). The guys are long enough to peg down on the other side of the tent. The canopy goes all the way to the ground each side and is pretty sturdy when the two ground tapes holding the sides are pegged down. It maybe doesn't look quite so big on our tent because the 400 DL is a bit bigger than the 400. Also, at £45, it is now cheaper new than a second hand Vango or Lichfield.

I'm not sure Argos are up to date on their catalog pages. We put in a reservation re the Lichfield ages ago but it is always out of stock. I have also emailed them without reply. I would be interested to know if anyone has been able to buy one from them. Lichfield say they are not making these canopies any more. The Wynnster looks very much like the Coleman, so we'll stick with the Coleman as it seems to do more or less what we wanted it to do.
