Hello,

Has anybody heard of Le Mont tents? I am looking at a frame tent by this brand, but know nothing about them.

I remember Lamont tents from the 70's not sure if this helps

I remember Lamont tents too. Virtually all of the canvas tents from the 70's were decent quality, so if the price is right, take a chance Moonmummy, you know you want it

Oh I do want it

Just concerned about whether I can pitch a 4 man frame tent by myself...wouldn't know where to begin! It's far bigger than we really need, but would be great for Autumn/Winter camping, with the space inside....

I have even found a company who deliver your tent to the campsite, then pick it up again and dry it out!! That would be soooo easy

I didn't get the tent

The seller took too long to answer my questions and the buy it now was removed before I could snap it up. Got outbid by £1. Gutted. I hate fleabay

It seems I can't compete with the prices people are prepared to bid for any old frame tent nowadays

It must not have been the right one for us I suppose, maybe another one will turn up before the end of the season.....fingers crossed!

Sorry to hear that Moonmummy, but the right one will pop up soon, don't worry
I pitched a 4 berth frame tent alone - easy enough if it's on it's 'knees'. But I did need help then to stand it up - if you try to do that alone it gets very wobbly - you need to do two legs together.

Ahh, sorry to hear you've lost that one - it hurts much more when you've missed it by just a quid doesn't it? Another desirable one will turn up, keep looking & make sure you search for 'canvas tent' as well as 'frame tent', as I've found that not all sellers list them under both categories.

I'm sure you'll be able to pitch a four berth on your own - I can pitch our six berth single-handed.

Recently been out bid on several tents, but it's all part of the fun. If you won them all, you'd be like me, and have no room to store them. The chase is half the fun. Sorry you didn't get it though.

I am waiting to hear back on another one now, not fleabay thank goodness.

Apparently it's an old orange and blue one, so I suppose that means 70s? The current owner hasn't looked at it for 10 years, but packed it away dry. Don't know the brand as yet, but he only wants a tenner for it so I would be a lucky girl if it all works out......it will clash horribly with my bunting though lol
