i've just purchased a gelert lakesbury 5 tent and im toying with the idea of getting a tent carpet for it, just wondering what you guys think of tent carpets in general, do they slide round much, are they warmer underfoot, easy to clean etc etc etc.

I love my carpets, I have to admit. I now need to sort something out for my Etna. I used picnic rugs this time but do find them a bit slippy and slidy, even when I had things stood on them.
hi gilertcampers just bought my first carpet for my gilert beyond 8 . used it a couple of times now and it never moved once.olso you can put it in the washer on a cool wash and it comes out like new .happy camping rsp.
To me a carpet is an essential - make a huge difference to the comfort factor especially when the weather is a bit cooler. very warm and snug underfoot, soft and quiet (I hate that crackly plastic groundsheet noise!).
And they don't slide at all. Easy to clean (brush off dirt when dry or hang over your washing line and hose down) but I have a 'no shoes in tent' policy which keeps the carpet pristine! Just have a container at the door for shoes.

Makes it nicer to sit in the tent in the evening and reinforces the no footwear in tent rule. I bought a Coleman universal carpet for the Horizon 6, lots cheaper then the Gelert original.
We've got a carpet for the first time this year and love it, it did move a bit when we were pitched on a slight slope and moved around slightly otherwise. Last time out we bought some elastic and large safety pins which we're going to attach to the carpet and anchor points round the tent, hopefully this will keep it in place.

Got a carpet from Carpet Right £60 for one that fits our Royal frame tent from front to back and side to side also took 2 rugs so comfortable had a ground sheet from Go for £15. Didnt get any draughts and no slippage. Where did these squiggles come from.
