As mentioned in my other thread, I'm going to be wild camping/hiking shortly. Clearly not suitable for my cherished Orchy 500 so I need something weatherproof and portable. I've looked at the Tempest 200 which looks perfect for my needs, but I worry about the reviews that say the porch is too small. I'll be travelling on my own, but could face adverse weather so may need the extra space - has anyone got a Tempest and can let me know how small the porch really is in reality?
Cheers

I've just bought a Wild Country Aspect 2 which sounds like it would be perfect for you - mini review on this thread - not used it in anger yet but so far I'm very impressed
It's only 10cm taller than the taller end of the Tempest and at 95cm it's still fairly low. I camp in some very exposed spots and I'm not worried about it anyway! It feels like a really sturdy little tent, even before it's properly pegged out. You also get 4 extra guys that hook onto the poles (2 for each pole) and you peg them in an X for extra stability in high winds. It's not a mountain tent but I still expect it to take some weather

We bought a tempest 200 a month back in prep for a weekend trek we are doing in sept as a warm up for possably doing bigger things over the next few years. Theres plenty of room for 1 person and just enough room for 2. The front porch is roomy enough for a decent sized rucksack.
