Hello, absolute beginner here just starting to collect the bare essentials. I have my eye on a 6 man Royal Bordeaux and would like any advice as i have read mixed reviews.

hi there cant comment much about the bordeaux i have the winnipeg 6 same looking i can say thee a good solid tent very pleased with ours.You may get someone on who has that tent for more help good luck

Thanks for the replies, i'm looking to buy second hand, the Royal is going for £175 (£564 at Leisureworld) c/w footprint, carpet and sun canopy.

Hi, back again after some wheeling and dealing on flea-bay. Got a new Coleman coastline deluxe 6 c/w with footprint, carpet and windshield. Have the cooker + gas (need a stand) beddings sorted as is the lighting and heating. Looking for advice on an essential tool kit (other than the mallet)

Coastline 6 is a great tent i had the 4 man version if your looking for a stand it depends on how far you want to go as you can pick up the concertina type around the £20 mark or you can go for something a little more complex like the camping gaz alluminium type around £45
