I mean when you're taking down your tent? Like all tents, mine has 2 types of 'ropes', some with a single anchor point, some with 2 points, one at the top of the frame, one half way down so the resultant guy, when pegged, forms a triangle.
I tend to fold them up on themselves (usually into quarter) then tie the resultant bundle into a granny knot but I'm sure there's a neater way! Especially as the bundle invariably contains the sliding tensioner!
Can anyone can link to a video? Or give an idiot proof description?
TIA

They don't dry out at all well when they're tied up so I just don't bother. They do tangle ocassionally but the time spent untangling them is probably less than the time spent tying them up tbh.
I gave up tieing them up when it was pointed out to me on here that it could mean they'd stay damp longer, and so be more likely to become a source of mould.

the children pick up the red elastic bands the postmen drop and we use them. Although we did notice that this year a lot of them snapped. Are they throwing away cheaper quality ones?

The red post office elastic bands are bio-degradable, that's why so many posties just chuck them on the floor because they'll rot away to nothing over time.
As for guy lines, just lob them on the tent before you roll up!
I fold them in half (the longer ones I fold again) then just loosely knot the bundle. When erecting the tent all I have to do is quickly un-knot them. They don't tangle that way and it only takes seconds. There are velcro straps on my tent which are supposed to hold the guy ropes after bundling them up but that takes too long and is too fiddly.

Pity the posties don't consider dogs and wildlife when disgarding their elastic bands
I am seriously considering collecting all the junk mail and disgarded elastic bands for a year then dumping them back at the sorting office once a year...nice Christmas present for them!
In the Scouts we used to have a way of tying them up and all you did was pull the end and they would unravel. I cannot remember how it is done but i am sure a scout or a sailor will be along soon to tell us.
Start from where they are tied on & wind around your hand, leave about a foot or 12 inches if you use metric , now wind the loose end around the bundle you had on your hand, about 5-6 times & finish with a half hitch, just pull to undo.
