Try a spraying them with a little Fabsil.Don't use WD40 or similar.

Yes, Fabsil the water repellent stuff! It's silicon based so can act as a lubricant too.

Get a shoe shine sponge and give them a wipe with it.These sponges are impregnated with silicone and you wont get in a mess applying it.You can also do your zips with it if they are a sticking a little.
Cheap and easy to carry too, oh and you can shine your shoes with one.

you could also try a candle or a pencil.
I have found with our montana that if you get the poles lined up just right then they come apart ok, if not they can be difficult buggers.

I can vouch for the Fabsil spray, had the same problem with my Montana's poles until I used it, not one stuck pole since!
That reminds me, I need another tin, cheers!!!
