Hello,

I think this ight be the stupid question of the week but...

I have an Sunncamp Evo 400 which has a broken pole section - the orange one.  I have got a replacement pole section from Sunncamp but I can't for the life of me work out how the get the elastic out of the existing pole so that I can remove the relevant pole sections, replace the broken one with the new one and thread everything back together again.

Is there any trick to removing the elastic from the existing pole so that I can untie the end and take the pole sections off?  I've tried wire but with no success.

Does anyone have any tips as to the easiest way to do this?  It can't be that hard!

We had to do this several times with a wynster tent we had, fixed and sold it in the end!

We broke the split pole into bits to get it off, then undid the end of the elastic, threaded it through the new pole and retied, it was very fiddly and from what I remember took bit of time and swearing, lol

I'm happy to report the job is now done! 

Re-threading the elastic back in ended up being an even bigger problem - it just wouldn't go through.  Had to resort to splicing some thread onto the elastic end with a needle on the end and droppoing the needle through each pole section.  This gave someting to pull the elastic through with.
