Hi, I thought i would share this with anyone looking to extend their Bear lake 4 or 6.

Having looked at the extensions for ages we found this website selling the BL extension for a tempting price of £176 including delivery  http://www.tentsandcamping.co.uk/index.html

While checking other sites online we went onto the Go Outdoors website to find they have a price beater offer running, they guarantee to beat any like for like price for 10%  http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/outwell-bear-lake-side-extension-p106460

As i said we had looked for a while but thought they were prety expensive, when we saw this we rand up straight away (being a discount card holder) we told them the site we had seen it on and voila! 1 Bear lake side extension including delivery for £153.45

Jobs a good un!

Off to poole this weeken to try it out

Cheers

Hi,

Only problem with the BL side extension is it takes the tent over 5m wide which is the maximum allowed on a lot of sites, inc the C& C club.
Outwell are bringing out a BL front extension next year, which imo will be a better option.

Thanks for the link though and it does seem a good price.

Hi Thanks for your post.

I didn’t mention we have the Bear Lake 4 so we are within the 5.0m "guideline", however surely a front extension on the BL6 would pose the same problem but with the length. IMO having the extension on the side makes sense for a cooking area thus releasing the front area for sitting, relaxing away from the clutter of cooking equipment etc.

Given this 5.0m limit, does this include guy lines as many tunnel tents are above 5.0m with them?

Thanks for the nod on the front extension though, will keep an eye out for that, the canopy on our BL4 seems a bit pointless.

All the best
