Hi! We also had a leaking tent (vango monte verde 900) we are new to camping so therefore didn't know if it was normal for tents to leak! Anyway we took our tent back to the shop we bought it from. They have sent it off to vango for testing. It has been gone a week now but told it could take up to 4 weeks before hearing anything. We really love this tent and don't want any other! Not sure if vango will repair or replace! Members on here have mentioned that sometimes you do get leaky tents as the manufacturers don't test every tent that is sold. Some say to use seam sealer or to take it back! Its up to you what you decide to do but if its only a small leak and seam sealer will do the job, then use it! We had quite a big problem with our leaks in the tent, that's why we sent it off for testing.
The velcro strap isn't on a seam is it? (I don't think it is but without pitching mine I can't be certain...)
It's quite normal for new tents to leak and you can use seam sealer but as (I don't think) this problem relates to a seam I'd try GO before trying to fix it myself. They're pretty good and might just swap it there and then for you (they did for a friend of mine who'd only had a their Vango up once and found a fault). If not, they'll send it away for testing.
Good choice of tent though - love mine!

The pole "holder" that is in the middle of the roof is on a seam. It is the main roof seam.
My Nevada leaked here too, and I can recall someone posting about the same thing awhile ago. I fixed mine with seam sealer as I had used the tent a fair few times and couldn't be bothered with returning it and possibly going through the "we need to look into this / you could have damaged it" hassle.
Having said all that, a new tent should not leak (not a synthetic like the Nevada anyway) so having only test pitched it I would take it back for a replacement.
It may be a few Nevada's have bad sealing at this point.

One of the reasons I pitched the tent in the garden was to test it in the rain. Also I have this theory (which I'm sure is complete nonsense), that exposure to rain (and the dry) can help somehow seal the seams.
Oddly enough, this morning, there is no leak, and it has been raining quite a lot. So I'm not sure what to make of that.
Contact GO, and probably be asked to bring the tent back to be replaced....then have to put the new one up to find any possible defect with that...or just stick with this one, and take some seam sealer with us?
On a semi-related note (this perhaps should have its own post)....
The little awning over the 'rain-safe' door seems to collect water very easily. After a heavy shower, there was a very large (and heavy) pool of water which had to be drained.
Is that normal? Is that a problem with my pitching...?
Our nevada m has not leaked and it has been in some heavy wind and rain this summer. I have not noticed rain collecting in the rain safe door either but we do tend to use the 'front' door with porch attached.
If unsure I think I would take it back and ask for a replacement.

I would not repair the seam and go for a replacement (I used silicon based sealer for the record though, but any would have been fine). A new tent should not be leaking, and repairing it may void your warranty.
I noticed our leak during a torrential downpour. The next heavy rain shower and the leak appeared to have disappeared (like yours); do not be fooled by this, it will still be there and is probably just down to how heavy and at what angle the rain fall is.
I personally think this pole velcro thingy is a bad idea. It essentialy does nothing and in strong gusty wind it gets put under some stress as the roof gets blown about; which could have made my leak - I don't use it anymore.
Can't say I've noticed large amounts of water gathering on the side door canopy. Perhaps the angled metal pole ferules are slightly bent and causing a bit of misshape. They are easy to accidentally bend due to how tight the pole fits.
I know this post is an old one but we brought this year's Nevada M this week to replace our smaller one and took it two nights camping. First night was fine, no rain. Second night we noticed dripping coming from the roof, on inspection we noticed it is coming from the velcro strap area as others have mentioned. It was really heavy rain and quite windy.
We also have another leak on seams to front right of tent (if sitting inside) about 1 o'clock direction.
I have taken photos and have asked outwell what I should do as we love the tent!
Our other problem is on putting the tent up we noticed one of the windshield (velcro part to attach to the poles with guy ropes on) has come away from the stitching/main tent. I think it has to go back for a replacement.

As I have mentioned on previous threads and in my review of the Outwell Trout Lake 4 we bought recently. Outwell have clearly got some quality control issues which I am hoping they are fixing, or have fixed.
I personally don't think a tent company of their supposed calibre should get away with anything at the moment so if you're not happy, take it back and get something you're happy with. There is a Bristol company I know that will not stock their stuff at all at the moment due to the amount of returns they were getting.
I have contacted both Outwell and Go Outdoors, I am hopefully taking it back tomorrow evening or the weekend, just need to ring in advance to warn them. They said the tent specialist will look at it and we will take it from there.
I love the tent and don't want to faff about doing more research and when we tested all the tents last time this was my favourite, so we will see what happens
