Tents over 5m wide or those shaped in an X or Y tend to cause the most problems. Some sites won't accept you at all, others will charge you extra and some will charge you for 2 pithces.
There will always be a site somewhere that will accept very large tents but you may find your choice of site more limited, so it is something to bare in meind when tent shopping.
We have the Khyam Ontario 8 which measures 7.5m x 3.7m and we have never had a problem.
Regarding the car, usually thi shas to fit onto your pitch along with everything else you might want to use (pup tent, utility tent etc...) Always best to check with each site what their policy is regarding cars or extras.
