First post from me so apologies if this is a stupid question (wouldn't be my first time..) but when we did a practise first pitch of our Nevada M the other day I wasn't sure what to do with elastic bungee loops attached to the ground sheet near the main pegging points, so I put the pegs through them as well as the main webbing loops. This seemed to make the groundsheet a bit tight and lift at the edges, more noticably inside the tent. Should the bungee loops be pegged separately from the main points..or am I being a complete numpty..?! I've watched a couple of the pitching videos on youtube but none of them show these bungee loops being used.

As a complete novice any other wise tips for pitching our tent (and the extension)would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Phil.

Hmm . .. not got these on ours. However, ours is a 2009 model so there might be some differences.

The best way we found to pitch was to:

1 loosely peg corners if breezy

2  thread poles through

3 Erect front pole near door. Repeat for other two poles. Insert inner spreader pole. Insert side door pole

4 Properly peg out starting from the front working backwards, shifting the pegs if needed. We found when going from back to front the front would never sit quite right for some reason. Always too high up from the ground.

5 Peg all guys.

HTH

Nick

Thanks for those tips Nick.

Not sure if the bungee loops on the outside of the SIG are additions to the 2010 model either, wonder if any Outwell experts can confirm and maybe what they're for..?

We worked from the back and like you said the front didn't seem to sit right. We were also trying to match the pegging points with the footprint and ended up with spare footprint at the front...I'm sure it will get easier with each attempt.

Cheers.

Phil.

Hi Phil we too have the bungee loops on ours , i peg these seperate to the others but even so have noticed it still makes the groudsheet a wee bit tight but not enough to lift it so try pegging seperatly, hope this solves the problem.

Hi,

we just bought a Yukon River, this has the bungee loops on the outside of the zig. These are for pegging down and help stop wind geting under the ground sheet also helps give the ground sheet the correct shap so its not all baggy at the edges. You done the right thing. IMO

Thanks for the replies and will peg the SIG loops separately as you suggest itsrainagain.

Cheers.

Phil.
